** On Wednesday November 27, 1963 both Cunard Liners QUEEN MARY and QUEEN ELIZABETH were in the Port of New York on a rare joint visit. QUEEN ELIZABETH sailed from Pier 90NR at 3:30pm on a cruise to Nassau. As she was passing south of the Statue of Liberty, QUEEN MARY was sailing into the harbor on her arrival from Southampton and the liners passed port side to port side. This was the last time that both Cunard "Queens" were in the Port of New York together.
