She was the second to be delivered in the very large and now complete eight-unit FANTASY Class that includes FANTASY (March 1990), SENSATION (November 1993), FASCINATION (July 1994), IMAGINATION (July 1995), INSPIRATION (April 1996), ELATION (March 1998), and PARADISE (November 1998).

She is seen from Battery Park City arriving in New York for the first time
on May 10, 1991 to dock at the West Side Passenger Ship Terminal
for an open house before sailing on her first cruise out of New York.

Her interiors represent the height of Carnival Cruise Lines’ period of neon and glitz to create the company’s Fun Ship atmosphere.

The ECSTASY's winged funnel at night is distantly bracketed by World Wide Plaza tower to the left and the Empire State Building to the right.

The ECSTASY is currently sailing on short cruises from Los Angeles to Mexico, and in September 2004 the ship will reposition via the Panama Canal to Galveston for 4- and 5-day trips to the Western Caribbean. This year Carnival Cruise Line is operating the CARNIVAL LEGEND,
CARNIVAL MIRACLE, and CARNIVAL VICTORY from New York for all or part of the warm weather season.
